Shou-Sugi-Ban Reclaimed Douglas Fir Side Table. Sold.

So the Shou-Sugi-Ban technique is basically moderately burning the outer surface of a resinous wood, there is an art to it. I only utilized that on the outer facing surfaces on this piece.

Live Edge Walnut Magnetic Knife Racks. All Sold.

I've created a few more of these, as the myrtle version I had posted on my etsy site went viral last week. Two of these sold this morning. Actually, this one was the first to sell, no small wonder as the grain has the most WOW! of all of them.

Most of these are 16" long, height varies from 4 to 5 ".  

I created a channel in the backside of the piece to embed the magnets( I used ceramic Ferrite block magnets),  then  refilled the open space with more tight fitting pieces of walnut, which are glued into place for maximum strength.

It pays to keep an eye out to see what comes in every few days at rebuild it center.

I charred the outside edges of the legs with a propane torch!

Crazy anthropomorphic legging on this fatty doug fir driftwood slab, I have two of these pieces. This one is 64.5 inches long and the other is 63, they both had a single giant on school rusty nail in each end. 

I love the opposition on these legs as a design element.
