I made this lamp a few years ago, and was never satisfied with the hardware. After doing the pipe lamp, I realized I just needed to buy a lamp kit and a long rod. Now it's totally safe and looks great. With the new bell hanger bit and my new knowledge, I can make a lamp from just about any cool looking chunk of wood.

This model of knife rack is incredibly strong and snappily responsive. Using a locally fabricated tool bar, which utilizes a U shaped channel to force both the positive and negative charges to the surface, I then tenon block the ends, and cover the magnet surface with a thin veneer. This leaves only the edges of the steel channel exposed, while the rest is encased in beautiful burly maple. The end result is a super strong magnetic knife rack that is gorgeous to behold.
